Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one’s attention to the internal and external experiences occurring in the present moment. This attention is developed through meditation to focus on the ‘present’. Over time this can limit distracting thoughts, rumination and worry. Scientific studies have shown mindfulness practice can increase awareness of current patterns of thinking, in order to observe, and change unhelpful behaviours and thought processes.

Mindfulness can be used to develop skills such as distraction control, focus, and regulation of emotions. These in turn can affect the quality and enjoyment of living, but are also vital in high pressure environments. Mindfulness training is an incredibly powerful way to train the mind for self-reflection and change.

Mental Note can design and tailor programmes to suit a range of requirements. Having worked within the private, public and voluntary sectors with individuals and teams, I can provide 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Living Courses (MBLC), taster workshops, Introduction to Mindfulness training days, and individual mindfulness programmes to aid well-being and the fulfilment of potential.
